What Ice Fishing Gear Should I Buy?

I just started ice fishing this year. I have a gift card to Cableas and was wondering if I should buy an ice fishing rod and reel, or a tip up. I currently am using a 5 1/2 foot ultralight I use in the summer. Also I do not have, or can forsee, an ice shanty in my future.
